TE(A)CH is a magazine that aims to investigate the impact of digital technologies on the education field. The A in parenthesis is meaningful as it represents an important change of meaning. How to integrate digital tools within the educational environment? How to spark “analogic students” with digital technologies? To spark is relevant when we talk about teaching and that’s the reason why the logo itself presents a spark. The topic of the first issue is distance learning and the articles selected by the editor reflect how Covid-19 has boosted the digitization process inside the schools, bringing pros but also many problems due to digital divide. The three articles of this issue describe how Covid-19 and distance learning have impacted schools of different grades, from primary school to high school, in different areas of the world: United States, Great Britain and New Zealand.
The visualization interface follows a three columns layout. Once the reader has selected the issue and the corresponding articles, they can be easily compared side by side. In addition, the metadata viewer helps to compare the different types of metadata presented in each article, such as person, place, organization, and concept. The articles can be read choosing two typographical styles: Aldine and Cubism. The reader can easily switch from one style to another by clicking the buttons located in the top-right side of Article Visualization. Every style is referenced to a specific historical period and artistic taste, as you can read in the Documentation section.
